Angel Aquino texted me about the clarification I wrote in my previous column regarding the rumored new guy in her life.
Her message made my day: “I can’t find words to tell you how much I appreciate what you wrote in your column. That’s what all this really is. Thank you so so much. I felt tears in my eyes after reading it. It felt like a tight, warm hug. I’m so grateful my dear, dear friend. I love you.”
Celebrities like Angel make the show biz circus bearable. I’m blessed to have found true friends like her in this unreal “world” we work in. Although we are in show biz, both of us are not of show biz.
‘I’m a real man’
I teased Mark Bautista on why his romantic pursuit of Sarah Geronimo went nowhere, while Rayver Cruz pulled through, despite Mommy Divine’s tight guarding.
Mark kept laughing. What’s his advice to Rayver who’s been caught in the recent crossfire between Sarah and Cristine Reyes? “Sana maging serious na siya kay Cristine,” he said. “Para wala nang masaktan pa uli.”
Doesn’t he plan to have a girlfriend soon, so that people will stop questioning his gender? “I don’t need to have a GF to prove that I’m a real man. It’s more important that I treat every woman right.” Straightforward answer from a straight guy.
Danita Paner threw a surprise birthday party for her BF JC de Vera at Guilly’s Makati.
“He was clueless,” she said. “I pretended to be cold to him that day para di niya mahalata. It took two days of preparation with his mom. He was super happy because almost all his close friends and relatives came. First time ko mag-organize ng party for the love of JC.” If Danita’s heart is in it, the sky’s the limit.
Could it be true that Ely Buendia is now dating TV personality Shawn Yao? Has the former Eraserheads frontman erased Diane Ventura from his life, though I heard she is still his manager?
Ana Roces has found love anew, after her marriage was annulled two years ago. The new man in her life is a lawyer, Trandy Baterina. They had their baby boy, Mateo, baptized recently. Roces’ joy is in full bloom.
Ogie and Regine Alcasid will hold a celebrity “Ukay Ukay” on April 15-17 at the Hot Summer Heat Wave Fair in World Trade Center, Pasay.
The fundraiser aims to help the Kapuso Foundation build and rehabilitate schools in the country. Mother Lily Monteverde has already donated P1 million. Ogie and Reg are humbly soliciting the help of stars who want to donate any item to be sold or auctioned.
Ogie is also organizing a benefit concert at the Araneta Coliseum on April 14 to raise funds for Overseas Filipino Workers who have lost their jobs in Libya. Kindness is in everything the Alcasid couple does.
